What’s on my mind? Preaching. Good preaching. Bad preaching. I’ve done both. I’ve heard both. I pray I never preach “bad” again. But while we’re on the subject, what makes up a “bad” sermon? Is it solely unscriptural preaching that is bad? Not necessarily! For you can be “ in the Bible” while being out of Christ’s character. Were not the disciples kind of “in the Bible” when, using Elijah as an example, they asked Jesus if they should call fire down out of heaven to consume their enemies? To which Jesus replied by informing them that they knew not what spirit they were of. You can capture the letter of the text without capturing the heart of the Author! May Christ help me to always capture His heart before I quote His words!
