Time vs. Eternity

We spend our days observing the watch or the clock, but seldom do we really know what time it actually is. Let me explain.

As I sat in the waiting lounge of the Ghana international airport on March 4th, awaiting to be boarded onto my departure flight to head back to America, I kept looking at the time. In fact, there was a big beautiful clock on the wall that I just absolutely love (see pic below).

For all practical purposes, this clock could have helped me stay tuned in to how much closer I was to my departure as each moment passed.

However, as I looked at this clock, I honestly didn’t even pay attention to the time. I was actually looking at the map itself. More specifically, I was looking at where Ghana was on the map.

Just south east of the center of the clock, you can find Ghana. For a Ghana Airport, I can see why this may have been intentional.

But what has since occurred to me is that I wasn’t looking just at a map, but at a significant moment in God’s time table. A moment where my time was stamped by eternity’s touch. A moment I will never forget. A moment where I was awakened to what is no doubt a huge chunk of my future mission endeavors, and perhaps an even bigger chunk of my heart.

In that moment, I looked past my time, and saw what time it was on God’s calendar. It’s harvest time! May God have His will!!

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. -Psalms 31:15
